NASBA Executive Administrator (Part-Time, Remote)

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000.00 depending on qualifications

About NASBA

NASBA is a 501(c)(6) alliance created in the early 1980s by the executive directors of state broadcasters' associations. NASBA provides a collaborative forum for all 50 state associations to share best practices, address mutual challenges, and advocate on behalf of the broadcasting industry.

Over the years, NASBA has grown in stature and influence due to its unique structure and the dedication of its member associations. NASBA works closely with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and plays an important coordinating role within the national broadcast ecosystem.


Position Overview

The Executive Administrator is a part-time, remote position providing high-level administrative and operational support to the NASBA Executive Board. This individual serves as a key liaison between NASBA leadership and its 50 state association members.

The Executive Administrator works closely with the NAB State Association Liaison and NASBA’s legal counsel to ensure smooth operations, effective communication, financial stewardship, and strong member engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Board & Member Liaison

  • Serve as primary administrative liaison between the NASBA Executive Board and membership
  • Work closely with the NAB State Association Liaison and maintain strong relationships with NAB staff
  • Provide responsive support to members via the NASBA listserv and direct communications
  • Serve as a resource for member inquiries and information-sharing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, contact lists, and corporate documents

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Create and distribute annual membership dues invoices and Critical Issues Fund invoices
  • Track and record incoming payments from member states and sponsors
  • Provide monthly investment statements and distribute financial reports to the Executive Committee and Critical Issues Chair
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget and tax filings
  • Coordinate with accountant and auditor to support compliance and tax preparation
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts using QuickBooks
  • Oversee investment accounts and renew CDs as applicable
  • Serve as corporate agent and submit required filings to the District of Columbia to maintain NASBA’s corporate status and good standing

Meeting & Event Coordination

  • Organize and coordinate monthly Executive Committee and membership meetings (virtual and in-person)
  • Manage attendance rosters and participation records
  • Coordinate logistics for two annual in-person membership meetings:
    • Washington, DC (in conjunction with the NAB State Leadership Conference)
    • Las Vegas (in conjunction with the NAB Show)
  • Organize and support NASBA’s annual retreat
  • Coordinate with NAB for the annual Newbie/Refresher meeting in Washington, DC
  • Develop and distribute agendas, minutes, and committee reports
  • Identify and recruit meeting sponsors and develop sponsorship opportunities

Communication & Technology

  • Serve as administrator for the Higher Logic platform
  • Maintain and regularly update contact information for all State Association Executives
  • Coordinate and update content on NASBA’s online platform
  • Facilitate and maintain NASBA’s CareerPage
  • Create graphics and logos for meeting materials, website ads, and publications
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Financial management experience and comfort working with budgets
  • Experience supporting boards or volunteer leadership structures preferred

Technical Proficiency In:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
  • QuickBooks
  • Adobe
  • Zoom
  • Database and membership platforms (Higher Logic experience preferred)
